Room 21 was our buddy class for Swim Fortnight, so we decided it would be nice to make reindeer masks with them. There are way too many of us so we also invited Room 22. Here are the creative masks...

We started this term by researching, designing and creating our own Venetian masks, inspired by masks Mrs Robinson saw in Venice on her trip. Have a look at our masks on the 'Venetian Masks' page.

Time Lapse videos
We tried out a new application called Time Lapse which takes photos every few seconds and replays them quickly to create a short 'movie'. Have a look at our attempts below:

Coat of Arms
This week we looked at the meanings behind the colours, animals and symbols found on a coat of arms. Some children even looked up their family coat of arms. We discovered that there can be more than one coat of arms for a family. Here are some photos when Mrs Robinson visited Marksberg Castle on a hill in Braubach located on the Rhine River in Germany. You can see more about this castle here: Marksberg Castle.
You can create a coat of arms at one of the following websites:

How much do you know about how to describe a coat of arms?

Can you find out what the yellow and red colours and the lion symbolise?

Arirang - A Korean folksong
Today Shaun, a visiting Korean teacher, taught us a Korean folksong. We tried hard to learn the words and the tune, but for some of us the words took over and we forgot there was a melody (maybe that was just me?) Enjoy our song :)

Gymnastics Day at the Christchurch School of Gymnastics
Arriving at the Christchurch School of Gymnastics, some of us were in disbelief at the sight ahead of us. All that remained were memories of the pool complex that many had visited and enjoyed in the past. All completely gone...
Luckily for us the School of Gymastics is still up and running and we had a FANTASTIC day. All except Mrs Robinson who rolled her ankle three steps onto the springy mat because she was being careless. Safety first children, safety first!
Not all the photos are on here yet, but you will get an idea of the fun we had!
